Project Overview

 

Jingchu Glass specializes in large-format architectural glass for applications such as curtain walls, building façades and other architectural projects.

The customer previously operated a glass processing line from another supplier, but the equipment was not performing reliably and offered limited automation.

Techwin developed a new intelligent jumbo-glass processing line connecting directly to the customer’s cutting machine.

The new system combines automatic glass recognition, double edging, washing and unloading into one continuous production flow.

The Challenge

 

The customer needed a solution capable of:

  • Processing glass up to 6000 × 3000 mm
  • Handling 3–25 mm glass
  • Processing large architectural glass at high speed
  • Automatically adapting to different glass sizes
  • Reducing manual intervention
  • Improving the reliability of the existing process
  • Connecting directly with the cutting and unloading systems

Techwin’s Solution

 

High-Performance Jumbo Double Edger

The L-shaped double edging line is designed for glass up to 6000 × 3000 mm, with a production speed of up to 20 m/min.

Each edging machine is equipped with 26 spindles, with servo motors providing automatic wheel compensation.

As the grinding wheels wear during production, the system automatically compensates for their position, helping maintain consistent processing performance while reducing manual adjustment.

3 m Jumbo Glass Washing Machine

The integrated washing machine is designed for glass up to 3 m wide and includes:

  • Pre-washing section
  • Three pairs of washing brushes
  • Soft brushes for Low-E glass
  • Two high-performance blowers
  • High-efficiency air drying

The washing system is designed to provide reliable cleaning and drying for large-format architectural glass.

Intelligent Energy-Saving Control

The line is equipped with inverter-controlled motors.

When no glass is being processed, the system automatically reduces the operating frequency of selected components, helping reduce unnecessary energy consumption during idle periods.

This allows the machine to balance production performance with energy efficiency.

Automatic Size Recognition

The line connects directly to the cutting machine.

After cutting, each glass sheet is scanned to identify its actual dimensions. The processing equipment then automatically adjusts according to the detected glass size.

No repeated manual setup.

This allows different glass sizes to be processed continuously with less operator intervention.

Flexible Automatic Unloading

The line is connected to an automatic double-station unloader.

The system can unload:

Two glass pieces together

or

One large glass piece at a time

according to the production requirements.

This provides greater flexibility when handling both standard-size and jumbo-size glass.

From Manual Processing to Intelligent Production

With the new Techwin system, Jingchu Glass has moved from a less reliable, manually operated process to a fully integrated and highly automated jumbo-glass production line.
