Project Overview

 

Jingzhe is a manufacturer of high-end bathroom products, including shower rooms and processed glass, serving customers in European and North American markets.

Before this project, the customer used conventional straight-line edging machines for shower glass processing. The process was relatively slow, and diagonal dimensional errors could become significant, affecting production efficiency and output.

Techwin developed an automated double edging solution to improve processing efficiency, dimensional consistency and production flexibility.

Techwin’s Solution

 

Automatic Loading & Glass Recognition

A compact loader and positioning table feed the glass into the line.

For mixed or non-batch orders, an integrated scanner automatically reads the actual glass dimensions and adjusts the machine accordingly.

This eliminates repeated manual measurement and setup, saving valuable production time.


Servo-Controlled Double Edging

The double edgers are equipped with servo motors for automatic wheel compensation.

As the grinding wheels wear, their positions are automatically compensated, helping maintain stable processing quality while reducing manual adjustment.


Long Edges First for Better Diagonal Accuracy

The first double edger processes the 1600 mm long edges first.

This processing sequence is designed to minimize diagonal deviation before the glass moves to the next stage, helping achieve better dimensional consistency for shower glass.

Automatic 90° Transfer For Corner Grinding

After double edging, a straight-line turning table automatically rotates the glass 90° and transfers it to the online corner grinding machine.

The process continues without manual repositioning. This conveyor is needed to enable the glass becomes short edge leading in the rest processing so the rest machines in the line can be 1600mm machines instead of 2500mm machines. This can help save space and reduce the cost.

Integrated Production Line

The complete production line includes:

Automatic Loading → Scanning & Positioning → Double Edging → 90° Turning → Corner Grinding → Drilling → Washing → Automatic Unloading

This creates a continuous automated workflow for shower glass production.
