Project Overview

 

JRD Glass is a new glass-processing company in India, specializing in cooktop and range hood glass for internationally recognized home appliance brands.

As a new processor entering a demanding market, JRD needed equipment capable of combining high production efficiency with consistent edge quality.

Techwin supplied a complete processing solution consisting of a high-speed pencil edging line, online corner grinding machine and glass washing machine.

The Challenge

 

Appliance glass requires both high productivity and excellent edge finishing.

JRD needed a production line that could:

  • Process rough glass at high speed
  • Achieve high-quality polished edges
  • Handle different glass sizes
  • Provide stable long-term operation
  • Protect electrical components from water
  • Integrate edging, corner grinding and washing into one process

Techwin’s Solution

 

6 + 6 Spindle High-Speed Pencil Edger

Each pencil edging machine is equipped with 6 spindles on each side, allowing efficient rough grinding and polishing in a continuous process.

The machine can process:

Maximum: 1000 × 1000 mm
Minimum: 200 × 200 mm

Thickness: 3-25mm

  • Rough grinding speed for glass under 5 mm: up to 10 m/min
  • Fine polishing: approximately 6–8 m/min

This configuration allows JRD to combine high-speed material removal with high-quality edge polishing.

Servo-Controlled Transmission

The glass transmission system is driven by servo motors, providing precise and stable glass movement during processing.

This helps maintain consistent processing quality, particularly when working with smaller appliance glass.

The machine also uses internationally recognized electrical components selected for reliability and long service life.


Designed for Easy Maintenance

The spindle assemblies can be swung outward, providing easier access when replacing grinding wheels.

This reduces maintenance time and makes routine wheel replacement more convenient for operators.


Strong Structure & Protected Electrical Components

The machine is built on a heavy-duty base designed for stable operation.

To protect the electrical components from water and humidity, the main electrical components are positioned above the wet processing area.

This design helps improve equipment reliability and service life in a demanding glass-processing environment.

Integrated Corner Grinding & Washing

After pencil edging, the glass enters the online corner grinding machine and then continues directly into the washing machine.

The washing machine is designed for glass up to 1200 mm wide and includes:

  • Pre-washing section
  • Three pairs of washing brushes
  • Three pairs of air knives

This provides a continuous process from edge processing to corner grinding, washing and drying.
