Project Overview

 

Swiss PV is a Swiss solar technology company in Switzerland, with a high-tech production facility focused on medium-sized series and customized solar modules. The company specializes in glass-glass solar modules and customized photovoltaic products for architectural applications.

Swiss PV’s products include custom-shaped, colored and patterned solar modules, making surface quality particularly important during production.

 

For this project, the customer required a washing machine that was far beyond a conventional solar-glass washer.

A 4-Meter Washer for a Highly Demanding Printing Process

 

Standard solar glass is often processed in relatively standardized sizes. Swiss PV, however, produces a much wider variety of specialty and customized glass products.

The customer required:

  • An extra-large 4000 mm washing width
  • The ability to handle different glass sizes
  • Extremely high surface-cleaning performance
  • Stable operation before digital printing
  • A customized solution that could fit the customer’s production layout

Because the washing machine is installed directly before the digital printing process, surface quality is critical.

Even very small particles or contamination can become visible as defects after printing.

Techwin’s Customized Solution

 

4000 mm Extra-Large Washing Machine

Techwin designed a completely customized washing machine with a 4000 mm washing width.

This is significantly larger than the typical washing width required for conventional solar-glass production and provides Megasol with greater flexibility for its specialty glass products.

 

 

Automatic Unloading

Techwin also supplied an automatic unloading machine after the washer.

The system provides greater flexibility for different production orders.

For glass that does not require digital printing, the glass can be automatically unloaded instead of continuing to the printing process.

 

This reduces manual handling and allows different production routes to be managed within the same line.
